what is this? [yeast infection]?
the inside of my vagina is white and i have a white/yellowish discharge and it has a bad odor. i dont have all the characterists of a yeast infection because i rarely itch, burn, or get irritated. what could this be and what can i buy to cure it?
and i’ve tried monistat 2 or three times.
and i know it’s not an STD.
please help. thanks.
Just because it doesn’t itch, doesn’t men you don’t have a yeast infection. The smelly discharge pretty tells you that that is what you have. Go to your docs and they can prescribe you something for it. Don’t worry because it is really easy to treat.
Yeast infections don’t have odors, just itching and white clumpy cottage cheese like discharge. My advice would be to purchase the monistat at home screening kit which screens for several different types of infections. Or if you do end up having a yeast infection and aren’t responding to Monistat than you will need a prescription for Diflucan (i have to do this when i get one, suppositories never work for me). Either way, you’re going to have to go to the doctors because for infections other than yeast you need a prescription medicine to cure them
Stop taking Monistat for a non-existent yeast infection. If you aren’t itching like crazy, you don’t have one.
You probably have a bacterial infection and Monistat will not take care of that. You need antibiotics from a doctor.
Different types of infections:
Signs of yeast infections:
White, cottage cheese-like discharge
Swelling and pain around the vulva
Intense itching
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
Is the smell foul or just musky? Your normal scent will smell stronger to you than to others. Your normal white dishcarge will dry yellow when exposed to air. If it’s coming out yellow, then it’s bacterial.
