Find another Vet. There is no reason in the world you would have to wait a week to seek treatment for your dog. That is just crazy.
I would just clean her ears with warm water once or twice a day. Carefully, too, they can get painful. The vet will probably give you a special cream to put on it.
Your dog should not have to suffer in pain until next week. Find another vet in your area.
If your dog does have a yeast infection, only a vet can tell you. Meantime read this site – it explains how dogs get yeast infections & what you can do to prevent future ones. Click on the left side for treatments they recommend.

I wouldn’t treat ears until I was sure what the infection is & the treatment the vet want me to follow. You can print out the info on this site & take with you for vet’s approval.
I’d make sure it was a yeast infection first it could be ear mites. It has the same symptoms. Also your vet should be able to fit you in somewhere sooner, your dog’s health and comfort is a t risk. I can’t believe your vet would do this.
my dog had the exact same thing. while you’re waiting to take her to the vet, see if you can get your hands on a wound cleaning solution. you can usually pick up a spray bottle of this stuff at livestock supply stores. it’s just a solution (like saline) that cleans the area and also encourages the dead skin and gunk to come out. pull her ear back (gently because it will be really really sore) and totally fill her ear with the solution. fold her ear back over and give it a rub to work it all the way in. don’t worry about cleaning it with a cotton ball or anything, just let this stuff drain out itself. even if it looks like it clears up (which it probably will) make sure you take her because these infections are usually mites, and she will need treatment for those.
I’m currently having yeast infection / bacterial infection problems with my dog. Basically what they’ll do is prescribe you a cleaning liquid to use daily, followed by 15-30 minutes an ointment. I know my vet recommended just using 3 parts water, 1 part white vinegar as an ear cleaner. I just put 1/4 cup vinegar and 3/4 cup water in a measuring glass, mix it up, then draw up some of it (you can use a dropper or a syringe, or heck a spoon if you have nothing else) and fill up the dog’s ear canal with it. Squish the ear around, and keep a towel handy because the liquid will come out and be messy, then use a paper towel or tissue to get the rest out, and gently swab in the dog’s ear (don’t use Q-tips, and don’t go deep or you could hurt your dog’s ear drum) and get out all the liquid you can. Doing this once daily should greatly help until you can see your vet.
