Possibly a yeast infection?
So I am thinking that I may have a yeast infection, I am not really sure because I have never had one, and I have read that pregnancy can increase your risk of getting them. Anyways, I am itchy and its starting to get red and swollen down there and somewhat painful, I really don’t have more discharge and it doesn’t smell. I have a doctor’s appointment on Aug. 10th, if I wait until then will it effect my baby, or unbearable for that matter?! Thanks ladies! (Sorry for the gross details!)
i have had them twice it will only get worse if you wait. most doctors will tell you to get monistat 7…its gross while your using it but it helps alot!!!
If it’s getting too bad, just go to the e.r. and make your appointment on the 10th a follow up. I don’t think that would affect the baby, but it could get worse if not treated soon. They have those tests at any store to see if it’s a yeast infection and to tell you at what level by the color on the strip.
Being pregnant definitely increases your risk for yeast infections. I had one almost the entire time I was pregnant with my first. It’s just uncomfortable for the most part.. it wont affect your baby until delivery, and even then the doctors take care to prevent that.
You can wait until your appointment, but they’ll probably see you a little sooner if you call them. It won’t harm the baby to wait, it’ll just be super uncomfortable for you. They’ll give you a prescription and that should (hopefully) clear it up. I know with me, it took months for it to finally be completely gone. It would clear up for maybe a week and come right back. Nothing worked. Ugh.
