Not a yeast infection, we sure?

I have slight itching in my vaginal area. And it is not even everyday or all day. I researched on the internet what a yest infection is, and I do not have any of the discharge, smell or color. Just very mild itching. What is happening? I am sexually active but we are both clean people with no diseases and we use protection and shower daily. So what can be happening? Can it just be a normal itching?

It could be the type of soaps or washes you are using in the shower. Finish your shower each time with a cold burst of water and use soap free products. This could be irritating you. You may have some mild irritation there, the doctor can give you a cream for this that won’t affect your sexual activity. Could also be bacterial infection or acidity of the urine caused by the foods you may be eating or lack of drinking water. Usually a discharge with itching that is not associated with the symptoms of thrush can mean bacterial infection or a STD, but i would not worry since your symptoms don’t include discharge.

Just wanted to let you know, Vagisil has a new product that is a home test for yeast infections! I personally haven’t tried it and I can’t attest to it’s accuracy, but I thought it was a great thing since yeast infections are so common. That’s just an option you could try if your symptoms continue. Though it may be a good idea to see a doctor if they do.
