Yes it works better than any cream or med my doc has given me. But make sure that it is PLAIN, the sugars from flavored yogurts will make the infection a whole lot worse. YOu can also add more yogurt, this doesnt have to be plain, to your diet, this helps keep that balance balanced

If your doctor told you to do it, there must be something to it. But you have to make sure it has active cultures in it, because the reason it would work is because of the bacteria in it. If it’s not an active culture yougurt it won’t work. I personally would rather just use a medication designed to treat it, but if your doctor gave you the OK, then go for it.

it can – just make sure it’s a no-sugar added kind with active yogurt cultures.

You can also eat yogurt everyday, it will change the pH of your vaginal area and can inhibit the growth of yeast.

Make sure it is the balkan style though (no additives). I don’t know if it will work, but if you doctor says it works, its worth a try. Good luck!

This works some of the time. Even though it seems gross and weird it has been proven to in some cases take away the yeast infection. I have also heard of soaking a tampon in plain yogurt and then inserting it you know where.

    NOTE: PLAIN YOGURT ONLY

An old remedy… It does work, because the very contents of the yogurt help change the pH value of the vagina – shifting it toward acidity (loss of acidity and pH value shifting towards base values was probably the thing that allowed for the yeast infection to “bloom”). Acidity is the main quality of the secretions lining the walls of the vagina. It helps prevent colpitis (infections of the vagina) of different causes – especially Candidiasis (yeast infection).

Are you sure you heard him/her correctly? You are supposed to EAT yogurt to fight off yeast infections. It has “good” bacteria in it. It’s supposed to help when you are taking an antibiotic which can kill all bacteria in your body, but you need good bacteria…which keeps you from getting a yeast infection..that’s where the yogurt would come in…but I have never heard of inserting it. I would definately double check that!!!

Yes, this works amazing. Alot of people will tell you not to, but it works great! I got a yeast infection Monday and I purchased Plain yogurt that has “live Bacterial cultures” This bacteria clears up a yeast infection just as quick as a prescription pill or cream. I applied it before I went to bed and reapplied after using the the bathroom and two days later its cleared away. After your yeast infection has cleared it would be wise to eat yogurt every second day to prevent the yeast infection from returning. Live bacterial cultures are good for curing yeast infections because they feed on the yeast and make it disappear, if you do some research Cleopatra used this method. A long time ago creams and prescriptions were not available and people used this natural method. Even doctors (like your own) are suggesting for people who like natural cures. But keep in mind it has to be plain Yogurt. A fruit yogurt has sugar and it will “feed” the yeast infection making it worse.

Try it, and hope you feel better :)
A yeast infection is not great.
