how do you do the candida diet?
I have horrible candida and i really want to get rid of… how do i start the candida diet? is there a cleanse i should do first? what foods can i have? is there a set amount of calorie intake? i want to start this weekend because it’s gotten worse! personal testimonies would be great!
OK, glad I stumbled across your question. It’s a convolluted nightmare of information and products out there. Here’s what works great for me after suffering from a bizzarre sugar sensitivity@ age33 and allergies all my life, etc. etc. etc.
DON"T WASTE TIME COUNTING CALORIES!
Enzymatic Therapy – Yeast Balance—-buy this product. Take it. It is very natural herbal and oils. Take two caplets with hot tea or coffee and eat a lemon or lime in close time proximity. Follow that with a good fiber source. Instant oatmeal with peanut butter. Instant oats or rolled oats I think are best because you don’t have to cook the snot out of them to make them digestable. Or take psyllium husk fiber or back beans but some good source of fiber. Your fiber intake should follow your ingestion of the supplement and hot beverage. (This all seems strangely specific but try it for two weeks) Follow your oatmeal with a bowl of marinara sauce that has Cheese cultures and enzymes in the ingredients list. Classico Spicy Tomato and Pesto I think is best because it has this and many good meditteranean diet foodstuffs and it is a little spicy which will improve (stimulate) digestion as well. Then eat a sald if you can. If you are still hungry have something satiating on hand to complete your apetite, nearly anything normally that you would eat. Try to do this routine for breakfast, it’s a great way to start the day.
Eat a big salad a day (greens and/or spinach-not lettuces). It’s a discipline so make this effort as efficient as possible. Get acquainted with your local salad bar. Use minimal oils/dressings. Learn to eat greens raw!!!! You will get the best benefit in the candida battle. Yeast don’t want to eat salads-they prefer that live on a diet of candy and beer (but I’m sure your diet is not that bad.
Another supplemnt that is good to be take with Yeast Balance is Solaray – Caprylic Acid or it’s just reffered to as Capryl. I believe it is found in coconuts which incidently is one of the most effective foods for you infighting candida but they are a chore to cut up. It (capryl)is also very tame so take two caplets 3x daily.
So, in review
supplements: yeast balance; capryl
Hot tea or coffee: Ingest supplements followed by heat(coffee/tea-hot as you can stand it) and eat a lemon (the "hot" citric acid magnifies the supplements strength in knocking down yeast)
Oatmeal with healthy garnish like cinnamon or PB or berries or sunflower seeds or Thai Kitchen coconut cream (milk) the paste-like stuff (no liquid noise when you shake the can.)
Classico: Spicy Tomato and Pesto: eat it like soup without pasta ….or with.
Salad
Reserve 1 hour to 1.5 hours to complete this regimen or just include these foods in your daily diet as life’s obligations permit. The idea is to keep these things running through you at regular intervals. Otherwise eat regular meals try to avoid sugars and reduce other simple carbs but do not obsess.
I’ve had experience in the past with eating yogurt mixed with healthy trail mix, coconut meat for a good probiotic effort after you’ve knocked some of this out. Stay hydrated. Garlic tabs a re a good thing to include too but be sparing with it. The yeast balnce thing if you take too much, the only SA I ever had is you’ll feel the cool sensation after a bowel movement. Both these supplements are very tame to adjust dosage-just stay hydrated to keep your excetory systems moving or you may have some degree of rash-saty hydrated and eat lemons and pineapple and banana.
