Help ! I´m taking diflucan for a nail infection. Treatment consists in 150 mgs once a week, for 8-12 weeks. I´m on my week 6, but have just discovered a little yellow spots on my eyes. Question: should I discontinue the treatment or can I continue and this will dissapear once treatment concludes???
thx
Time to call the doctor as this is listed as a serious side effect and may be indicative of some liver implications. In fact, call the doctors answering service and request that he calls you back. Then, you ought to be prepared to go to the ER. Good Luck
Spots on your eyes or eyelids? SIze- pinhead, smaller, larger? Usual side effects are occas. nausea. Serious ones include liver dysfunction – best detected by lab tests. Occas. can cause high cholesterol, which in turn can cause xanthomas- which are little fatty deposits on the eyelid. They don’t usually go away. You can have xanthomas unrelated to Diflucan. Does anyone in your family have them?
Your dose will depend on the infection you are treating. Take this medication exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take the medication in larger amounts, or take it for longer than recommended by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
