Could this be yeast infection in armpit?
First of all, I don’t use deoderant because it causes me problems, I use shower to shower type powder. Last night I came down with red burning armpit, mainly under one armpit, but slightly in the other. Sorry about grossness of this, but it does smell slightly like yeast, not like regular underarm oder. My first thought is that it might be yeast infection, but all that I’ve read so far says that it’s itchy. This is not itchy. Just very painful, red, and slightly sticky to touch. Anyone know what this might be, and could it be treated without going to doctor.

If you think it’s a yeast infection cut out sugar and alcohol. Take cinnamon extract. And drink lots of water. But it could be anything so I would recommend going to a Dr for a correct diagnosis.
i would advise you to go to the Doctor this week especially if its not better by Monday ( sounds pretty uncomfortable ) if it spreads or gets worse b4 then I would go to the ER no telling what it could be but it sounds like its chafed….
It might somehow be a fungal infection in your armpit (maybe if you cut yourself shaving and it got infected?), but yeast infections are usually refer to fungal infections “down there”. You could call your doctor and ask him/her to recommend something… you could also try an OTC tolnaftate or lotrimin cream.
Did you know that diaper rash is a yeast infection? That athlete’s foot is a yeast infection? That jock itch is a yeast infection? That oral thrush is a yeast infection? So yes, it’s possible to have a yeast infection on/in any part of your body.

You may need to go to the doctor My husband gets a rash that sounds quite similar He to does not use deodorant for the same reasons and when this rash appears he has to go to the doctor for an antibiotic I call it a rash but if I remember correctly the doctor describes it more like a fungus It usually appears every two or three years and it starts out like what you are describing but it then turns real puffy and quite uncomfortable and almost painful
Did you shave a bit too vigorously? Sounds a bit like razor burn. But if you didn’t, then I’m wondering if you’re allergic to something in the powder, maybe talc. Some people have allergic reactions to it because it’s a metal. Even if you’ve had no previous reaction, you still could develop one. I would lay off the powder just to test this out. Buy a gentle soap, one without any perfumes or irritants. Use that, and pat your skin gently to dry.
After that, apply a little hydrocortisone cream. If it is some kind of reaction, that will probably provide some relief. Apply it a few times daily for four or five days and see if it helps. If not, make an appt. to see your Doctor. It doesn’t really seem like a yeast infection. With that, you would have alot of itching. Hope this helps!

Candidiasis that comes back may be a symptom of a hidden disease such as diabetes, leukemia, or AIDS. If it does not go away within a week seek a doctor immediately.
