Change from white to yellow discharge- still a yeast infection?
I get yeast infections regularly, probably about every three months, especially when I have an abnormal (long) period. I have been tested for HIV and such, my doctors determined this is just a hormonal issue to which I am sensitive.
Anyways, I had abnormal spotting that turned into three weeks of bleeding recently. I discussed this with my doctor and she determined it was an issue with my birth control. Prior to this I had not had sex for 2.5 months. About a week after my period finished, I got a yeast infection. I used the one-day tricozonale (I think that’s the name for it) and waited for it to begin to work. Strangely, while the itching remained, the discharge changed from white to a pus-like yellow. There is no smell. I recently became sexually active with a new partner (during the one week between my period and getting a yeast infection), but he has been tested for STDs and came back negative. Any ideas what it could be?
i think its a yeat infection eat some yogurt everyday for awhile and if it doesn’t get better see a doctor.
dont do it… clean it very well and see if it comes back then ask the dr again
Completely normal, so dont fret. if you do notice a smell at some point, it could be a bacterial infection (which are almost as common as yeast) or an STD. Sometimes your ph balance can slightly alter your discharge. Having sex could have simply altered your ph. No biggie!
Have you been checked for vaginitis. At one time I had many, frequent yeast infections and it turns out that I had vaginitis. It required a slightly different medication.
It is also possible to give a yeast infection to your partner, and then your partner can give it back to you. When I was having so many yeast infections my doctor gave me the yeast infection pill and also gave it to my husband, in case he was carrying it and giving it back to me.
I would certainly go to a water only diet – no sodas or juices (keep the sugar down) and flush your body with fluids. And get some acidophylis pills (any grocery store or pharmacy will have them) or eat some yogurt each day. Limit candy, chips, cookies, etc… these these can be high in sugar.
It sounds to me that you may have what is called bacterial vaginosis and it’s very common among women of all ages. Signs of this infection are different for everyone, but because you already tried the medicine for a yeast infection and are still having these symptoms that would be my guess. don’t wait too long to go to see a doctor for a pap because a bacterial infection can increase your risk of getting pelvic inflammatory disease or run the risk of causing sterility if it goes on for too long. my advice is to go see a gyno get a pap and go from there. good luck and hope this helps.
