Hello, I have had my period since age 10 (early, I know…I’m 19 now), but it wasn’t until these last few years that I noticed an overabundance of vaginal discharge (it used to come in smaller amounts and less frequently). I’m perfectly healthy; don’t have any form of vaginal infection, not sexually active…I’m just tired of having discharge! I know I can’t get rid of it entirely, but is there any way that I can at least reduce the amount of discharge I get? I know it’s heavier/lighter depending on times of my ovulation cycle, etc. etc….but it wasn’t until the last few years or so that I noticed that there is NEVER a day where I can’t go without a panty liner (because it is THAT heavy). I’m sick of only having the options of wearing panty liners or staining my underwear! Is there anyway to at least lighten the load (diet/exercise/better hygiene/etc…I don’t do douches…)?
Thanks for all of your help and suggestions!

Well, the good news are that its shows you are a very healthy young woman. The bad news however are that you can’t do much to prevent or reduce the amount of vaginal discharge. Every person is different. Some women have very little or no discharge while others have a lot of it. All my life (I am a woman) until menopause I had to use panty liners or pads daily. No diet or exercise will reduce this phenomena, it has nothing to do with hygiene. Usually it means – if I am not wrong – you are ready for sex. Even having sex does not reduce the flow. Sorry about that but you need to learn to live with it and ignore it. I used to carry those liners in my bag constantly, just to be on the safe side.
